When Restube saved my life

"I went on a kitesurfing adventure at a lake. The unpredictable wind made the kite difficult to control, and I surfed away from the shallow shore to the deeper water to have more stable wind. Riding without straps on my board, a strong gust threw me into the water. The wind was so gusty that I could not control my kite anymore to get back to my board.
I was getting weak and desperate as I struggled to stay afloat. That's when I remembered Restube, a product I had for over ten years but never triggered. In a miraculous moment, I found the Restube bag attached to my trapeze and triggered it. From then on, the Restube kept me buoyant, the stress was immediately done. But the relentless wind pushed me further from shore.
Facing a tough decision—let go of my expensive kite or swim to shore—I spotted a figure on a stand-up paddleboard about 200 meters away. Despite a leg cramp, I waved the Restube buoy to get their attention. The paddle-boarder noticed me and changed course to paddle towards me. It took what felt like an eternity and he paddled at his absolute limit. But finally, he managed to bring me and my kite safely ashore.
That's how Restube saved my life. But there was more to this story—a reminder that sometimes it's not just about the equipment, but how you use it, and the gratitude that washes over you when you realize the significance of what you have. Thank you to Christopher and the RESTUBE team for providing a safety device I didn't fully appreciate until that fateful day on the lake. I never thought that our meeting 10 years ago at the Outdoor Show Friedrichshafen would one day save my life."
